Skills

The Role
To provide guidance and support to the Branch Manager, duty managers and colleagues within the branch teams.
Regular branch walks to review safety processes providing support where required and drive continuous improvements
To audit and report on branch health, safety, environmental and management performance and define appropriate improvement actions.
To investigate incidents and accidents, whilst working with branch management teams and others to identify causes and define appropriate actions to avoid recurrence.
To monitor timely completion of improvement actions by branch management teams and others to identify causes and define appropriate actions to avoid recurrence.
To act and assist on specific risk management issues
To contribute and support the HSE team to develop the management capability through the provision of support, coaching and training.
To keep accurate records of the output of work activities.
To lead the branch Safety Committee and follow up on all issues raised.
To perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Health and Safety Manager on an ad-hoc basis
Ability to attend meetings, as and when required.
Be able to work a varied shift pattern to cover all aspects of the trading week
Deliver Toolbox Talks’ to groups of colleagues.
Provide training to colleagues at all levels.
Attend the weekly managers meeting to present previous weeks activities
Carry out specific Duty Manager functions, which include Key Holding
The successful candidate will report directly into Branch Manager and Deputy Manager.
