The Role- SEN Teacher
This school are looking to appoint a strong, experienced SEN Teacher to work in a Pupil Referral Unit. You’ll be working teaching students between the ages of 13-16 with some of the pupils working towards their GCSEs.
As a SEN Teacher classes will have 10 students at any given time with mixed abilities so planning will need to be differentiated.
All students will have challenging behaviour and needs so the successful SEN Teacher must have strong behaviour management skills and ideally be Team teach trained.
The School- Pupil Referral Unit
Located in the heart of Newham with fantastic transport links, this school has over 60 students aged 11-16 across the school.
Some of their students have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion so they aim to get them integrated back into a mainstream setting.
They have various outreach programmes and a range of enrichment activities which helps promote the best paths for their pupils.
Pastoral support is a key area that helps this school understand each student’s needs.
