    The Team

    The team of trusted advisors offer a full range of services to insurance groups and businesses in the sector in respect of their non-

    core, underperforming and / or stressed portfolios / businesses. These services range from assisting large insurance groups to sell non-

    core or underperforming portfolios to taking formal insolvency appointments of distressed businesses. They work closely with the firm’s wider insurance sector professionals and are currently made up of approximately 15 people, led by two partners and three directors.

    Following a period of substantial activity and growth in certain areas of the business they are now looking to strengthen the teams delivery capabilities with a Senior Manager.

    Role & Responsibilities

    The role involves supporting a range of engagement types, which are likely to include :

  • Advising clients on their run-off strategy, particularly with regard to the disposal of run-off portfolios;
  • Evaluation and implementation of market exit strategies;
  • Supporting insurance groups with the design and implementation of their strategies to deal with the consequences of Brexit;
  • Providing advice to directors and other stakeholders with regard to distressed businesses in the sector and supporting formal insolvency appointments;
  • Working in engagement teams of typically 2 to 5 people, supporting engagement leaders on a range of engagement types, frequently on client sites;
  • On some engagements, acting as the main point of contact with the client, reporting back to engagement leaders;
  • Overseeing detailed analysis to present robust advice to client teams;
  • Assessing options for underperforming and / or distressed businesses and their stakeholders, which in some instances may involve consideration of formal insolvency processes;
  • Involvement in new product development or business development activities;
  • Development of managers and less experienced team members on assignments;
  • Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong commercial and business acumen;
  • Ability to work innovatively and self-start’;
  • Desire to build wider advisory skillsets and develop knowledge of all relevant propositions;
  • Ability to communicate well across a range of operational and financial staff at all levels, often in challenging circumstances and dynamic, flexible and fast moving environments;
  • Willingness to undertake some travel when required
  • Experience & Background

  • We would welcome applicants with significant experience in the insurance sector, preferably with some level of restructuring expertise too.
  • Corporate side advisory experience (either advising businesses directly or through other work undertaken in / with corporates)
