Primary purpose of position

The Vice President, International Flagship Retail Owned Stores will lead the establishment, development, planning, buildout and operation of an exclusive number of bespoke Harry Potter / Wizarding World stores and store-

based omnichannel retail located in leading global cities. These stores will not be located in shopping malls, but in interesting locations befitting the Harry Potter stories and character.

This position will play an active role in refining the creative and commercial vision to deliver a best-in-class experience-

led retail proposition for target customers (fans, superfans, tourists and residents). He / She will be responsible for effectively managing the P&L of the retail stores while developing and executing against the Wizarding World Global Franchise Strategy to achieve the objectives of the franchise (from both a financial and brand-building perspective).

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with globally-renowned IP and will play a major part in building on the success of the Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and Wizarding World brands, which have captivated fans worldwide.

Essential job functions

  • Build and lead an international portfolio of stores (beginning initially with three stores). Work with the UK-based retail team to develop the operating model (staffing, technology, logistics) which is transferrable across markets, and suitable for the scale of retail
  • Partner with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Warner Bros. Studio Tours to build a range, pricing and promotions strategy.
  • Develop a sourcing model which is replicable across markets and builds on existing supplier relationships and capabilities

  • In conjunction with Senior Management, oversee the annual process to build and sign-off on sales, gross profit and EBITDA forecasts (including budgets) upon which the stores will be targeted
  • Engage with multiple Stakeholders (Wizarding World Global Franchise, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Warner Bros. Studios).
  • Develop deep understanding of the core customer across markets with particular focus on both their engagement with retail channels and brand engagement more broadly (books, films, plays).

    Analyze competitive product offerings and industry trends to incorporate into the stores

  • Partner closely with creative agencies, Warner Bros. Studios, and other internal resources to define and develop high quality, experience-
  • focused retail environments which surprise and delight customers both in terms of product quality and experience which celebrates Harry Potter / Wizarding World

  • Work in collaboration with the Stakeholders and Digital Franchise Experience (DFE) to enable a best-in-class omnichannel retail environment in the stores through transactional means and experiential features, representing and promoting these world class brands to an elite standard
  • Manage and train highly engaged staff operating with a best-in-class team environment

  • Experience in omnichannel retail, with sales of greater than $50M with responsibility for full budget and P&L, required
  • Proven track record of developing, buildout, opening and running a successful international retail operation, across multiple territories
  • Experience in entertainment brands and / or entertainment venues, a positive
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders across a variety of business functions
  • Evidence of strategic mindset, ideally with experience building a brand beyond simple retail sales and EBITDA
  • Extensive International travel, required
