Our ever-growing Rail Group are expanding. We are looking to recruit a talented and experienced Rail Systems Engineer to help deliver and solve complex engineering challenges in the railway sector.
As one of the key members of the design team, the Rail Systems Engineer is a key role supporting the delivery of key projects within the Rail Group.
Primary Duties :
To lead systems engineering workstreams, covering the whole railway infrastructure.
To supervise and carry out a full range of systems engineering activities within project teams.
This may include development of SEMPs, architecture schematics, requirements management, configuration management, validation & verification, and systems integration / interface management.
When required, to undertake the roles of Contractors Responsible Engineer, Task Manager, Designer, Checker or Approver.
To supervise and check the work of less experienced staff and to support their professional development.
To support bid activities.
Level of Competence :
Competent to sign off design certificates on behalf of the company.
Location : The position is office based, but may require visits to clients, suppliers, third parties and work sites as required.
Role and Responsibilities :
Conceptual outline and detailed design of engineering solutions, presentation of engineering options.
Preparation, checking and / or approval of feasibility studies, outline and detailed design technical reports and other written documents.
Focus across the system lifecycle of a project that includes :
Establishment of internal design standards and / or processes to achieve a continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
Contributing to long term technical development of the office by application of new techniques, procedures and practices.
Representing the company on technical matters.
To play a key role in recruitment and the continued expansion and development of the team.
A working knowledge of EN50126.
