This is a Head of User Experience role that will positively impact market leading media brands and set the experience standard for their digital future.

Immediate is investing in its already strong Experience Design team of UX Architects and Researchers that help deliver solutions for our internal editors and brand customers that reach over 35 million users every month.

The role is best suited to someone with experience working on a product and improving the user experience based on the changing behaviours and expectations of end users.

Having a passion for evidence-based UX strategy and design, the role will lead User Experience team to deliver improvement of our existing experiences as well as creating new customer propositions for our various leading brands and products.

Comfortable working within a multi-brand environment, this role is responsible to deliver the why’ and UX architecture for a business goal across numerous brands, through leading the team to extract the useful user evidence, communicate insights gathered via both qualitative and quantitative methods and creating the UX design artefacts that help the team : such as user journeys, empathy maps, wireframes, presentations and prototypes.

The right person will be able to think big picture’ and champion the customer in every conversation and decision, be passionate about their needs and continually strive to improve their experience.

  • Lead and manage the User Experience team of 12 individuals, across both our London and Bristol offices, to build and develop an extraordinary user experience team of architects and researchers
  • Define and drive the User Experience vision and strategy, for all our brands, setting the standards and guiding the team to continually strive to exceed these
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from across the business to ensure you take into consideration their needs, and they buy-in to your vision
  • Lead the user research process from conception to launch, and on-going optimisation and improvement
  • Lead the creation of UX deliverables (IA, wireframes, workflows, prototypes, journeys)
  • Present to stakeholders the methods and results of research and design, clearly articualting evidence based recommendations
  • Drive and support cross-team initiatives that make the User Experience practice at Deliveroo better by improving our hiring process, growing our community presence, building team infrastructure and much more
  • Ensure the user experience supports the strategic vision, and is achievable within the technical constraints of the project.

  • Research Tools - Optimal Workshop, Optimizely, Crazy Egg
  • Wireframing Tools - Omnigraffle, Sketch,
  • Some basic coding (eg CSS / HTML) - for prototyping
  • Nice to Have :

  • Experience / exposure to Publishing
  • Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign
  • Some SEO experience
  • Familiarity with variety of CMS's (eg : Wordpress etc.)
