JOB PURPOSE / ROLE
Based in London and reporting directly to the Regional Terrorism / Political Violence Manager, you will be in charge of supporting the development of the Terrorism / PV business in the Regional Unit London (RUL).
You will be fully empowered and in charge of shaping, underwriting and monitoring the execution of the regional and global strategy and guidelines with respect to all accounts and will be the key contact person for brokers in RUL.
Underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet Terrorism / PV business targets
Negotiate price and terms and conditions with insurance brokers
Assume ownership of key accounts / clients
Working closely with our Market Management / Key Account Managers as well as other lines of business to identify a suitable pipeline
Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients in partnership with Market Management
Support the liability underwriting team in the Region
Support the development and execution of the regional underwriting strategy
Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet the top and bottom line targets
Underwrite in line with Terrorism / PV governance framework
Ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to producers
Proactively support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and producer negotiations where necessary)
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders, including cross line off business underwriters in the Region
Work closely with Market Management, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross- selling
Provide technical support to the market management team
KEY REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree
4-5 years’ experience of underwriting profitable Terrorism / PV business
Good understanding of Terrorism / PV products and portfolio
Strong communication skills and team spirit; entrepreneurial, proactive
Able to work in an international matrix organization
Very good use of Excel and Office package
Fluent in English
