The Opportunity

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management & timely delivery of Innovation & Renovation projects and, within this, Commercialisation activities specifically.

The role reports within Product Supply for the Middlesbrough site. Through cross-functional liaison you will ensure consistency with manufacturing strategy and capabilities.

You will facilitate the introduction of new ingredients and raw materials to Middlesbrough site through Product Supply teams to the required quality and technical standards.

You will facilitate and supporting Contract Manufacturing business-case submissions to enable go / no-go investment decisions whilst inputting into the life-cycle of existing products via a regular review of healthy portfolio and its supporting process.

Key Accountabilities

  • Chair and manage Innovation Pipeline Meetings, ensuring the agenda and minutes are effectively communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure these meetings drive successful project launches on time that delight our customers.

  • Support the Contract Commercial and Branded Marketing / Innovation teams by acting as intermediate between them and the manufacturing site.
  • Through cross functional liaison ensure that all projects are factory fit’ and costed accordingly.

  • Oversee the management of overall project timelines; establish an effective early-warning system for deadline challenges and develop appropriate work-around strategies to ensure final end delivery on-time.
  • Facilitate and coordinate project team by maintaining / updating the Innovation Pipeline tracker. Hold the project team to account.
  • Lead & champion key Contract Manufacturing EMEA product & packaging projects through the Stage-Gate process and ensure compliance from the cross-functional team.
  • Manage project through steering committee as required.

  • Champion the contract manufacturing Gate process, ensuring habit strength application of this by all parties, to deliver on projects that add value for the consumer, customer and business and kill those that do not meet the criteria expressly required to pass the gates.
  • Ensure opportunities to maximise efficiencies and / or material & packaging costs. These are explored as a matter of course as part of the development process.
  • Instigate Post Launch Review process on key launches with cross functional teams, driving through actions & improvements to conclusion.
  • About You

    To be successful in this position you will have :

  • Proven experience / background of 3+ years of successful project management leadership, preferably within a FMCG Supply Chain environment.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification; project management certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, MS Project preferred
  • Outstanding process skills, time management and strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to multi-task, stay on-track and engage & lead cross-functional team projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership / interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and under own initiative
  • Ability to think on feet in a changing environment
  • Financial / business / new product development acumen
  • Understanding or interest in sports and fitness
