Reference Data Operations is aligned to the Firmwide Data Management (FDM) Chief Data Office (CDO) which is responsible for improving the quality, integrity and reliability of the firm’s critical data.
The organization’s objectives are to explain the path that critical data follows, improve data quality, reduce ambiguity and inconsistent terminology, enhance transparency, rationalize the number of replicated data assets, and improve firmwide-
sharing of information and best practices. The FDM CDO serves as the governing body to create firmwide standards that drive consistent data management practices, develop technologies and processes to support data management processes, partner with lines of business and functional groups to embed data management best practices and capabilities, and ensure sustainability by refining, measuring, and improving the firm’s ability to manage data.
Reference Data Operations is seeking a Proxy Product Owner / Scrum Master who will report into the Firmwide Data Management Instrument, Pricing and Common Organization -
Instrument Functional Lead. The successful applicant will have previous experience in a SCRUM / AGILE Framework managing work with many complexities and cross dependencies.
They will be working with a hands on approach supporting a portion of our business and technology pipeline aligned to their reference data sub-
domains, working closely with members of the Product Owner, Reference Data Technology (RDT) team and Instrument Change Team as well as a wider group of stakeholders across the firm.

Ability & enthusiasm to execute the vision, strategy and roadmap within the Firmwide Data Management (Instrument, Pricing and Common Team)
Work in conjunction with the Product Owner team, Operational Leads, Technology Leads & Feature Teams to deliver a first class service to our clients exceeding expectations.
Understand & deliver the agreed Return On Investment based business benefits for products within the backlog
Continuous engagement of stakeholders across functional business areas partnering all, avoiding conflict and ensuring we meet their needs
Understanding of Equity, Rates, Credit and Commodities products (including cash and derivatives), with a focus on Exchange Traded Derivatives and trade lifecycle is highly desirable
Exposure to a banking environment or financial industry is a requirement
Direct experience of Reference and / or Market data is desirable
A track record of managing stakeholders in a complex matrix environment and strong examples of clear and concise communication
A history of successfully delivering cross-functional projects and a strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies
A commitment to delivering change and solving complex challenges
Highly analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
Experience as a Product Owner / Scrum Master for at least two years working with a development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns (example : Burndown techniques, velocity, forecasting committed vs. completed, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
Act or learn to coach team(s) to support advanced product backlog health
Follow / support tool utilization best practices, JIRA, Boards, Metadata alignment. Coach team and product owners in creation and maintenance of the product backlog
Facilitate and guide Scrum events / ceremonies
Must be able to communicate well with teams, larger practitioner community
Ensure Agile / Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, must be able to be a voice of reason and authority, make the tough calls
Attitude of Empowerment Must be able to lead teams to self-organization
Attitude of Transparency Must desire to bring disclosure and transparency to the business about development and grow business / product / change team trust
