Home Pricing Initiative Principal Analyst Home Pricing Initiatives is a team of pricing analysts dedicated to delivering the customer pricing element of a variety of complex changes, including regulatory, new products or new rating factors.

Using your analytical knowledge and pricing expertise you will be helping DLG make key decisions while ensuring alignment to the company’s strategies.

You will be part of the project team working within Pricing and Underwriting, and often needing to interact and work with numerous business areas.

Depending on the programme you will collaborate with IT, Digital, Finance, Underwriting, Business Intelligence Competency Centre (BICC) among others.

As with most projects, the diversity of the role and the challenges you will face are extensive you will see a project through its full lifecycle and be engaged in all stages from planning, pricing analysis, testing to delivery.

In this senior position, you’ll support your manager in shaping and delivering pricing initiatives, take a leading role in the planning and coordination of project delivery, support the use of new pricing initiatives in customer pricing and work closely with all areas to ensure unity of delivery in the most efficient way possible.

Junior members of the team will look to you for support and development.

What being a Home Pricing Initiative Principal Analyst involves : Assist in the day to day planning, monitoring and delivery of the end to end project(s) to meet the agreed business requirement within the agreed timescales Update and develop pricing models as required to enable the business to both price effectively and to manage pricing risk effectively Strive continuously to improve the statistical validity and efficiency of all modelling, projection processes and techniques Support the design, improvement and enforcement of appropriate controls to ensure that testing is fit for purpose, is not superfluous and is as efficient and economical as possible, complies with all audit requirements and minimises the occurrence of incidents in production Work closely with wider project teams and other Pricing and Underwriting teams to deliver upon pricing projects and new initiatives Develop your own skills and knowledge such that you have the expertise required to achieve current and future business requirements.

Support the work stack management and development of less experienced pricing analysts Identify, own and manage the risks involved in running our business appropriately to this role, in line with the company risk framework.

Communicate to peers and team managers in a timely manner where you have discovered price, model or data issues and suggest appropriate remedial actions Ensure compliance with core Direct Line Group Policies, statutory and regulatory requirements, governance controls (including all relevant risk minimum standards) and timely completion of risk and audit actions.

  • Ensure reputational risk is minimised Reinforce the culture and core values of Direct Line Group through appropriate behaviours and actions Skills & qualities you’ll need : Experience of working within a similar actuarial, pricing or statistical role in the financial services industry Evidence of demonstrating personal effectiveness in prior roles Educated to degree level or equivalent in mathematics or a related degree Experience in SAS, Emblem or Radar software is preferred but this is not essential Career benefits and rewards Rewarding you is really important to us, as well as offering a competitive salary and generous holiday entitlement;
