Key Accountabilities

As HR Business Partner you will efficiently and professionally support the Company’s HR Function in line with key business objectives, helping to make the HR Department a highly cost-

effective, valued and well regarded resource for managers, employees and associates alike.

In this diverse role your accountabilities will include but limited to :

Employee Relations

  • Provide a dedicated HR advisory service in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, family leave, organisational change and the range of employment and employee relations matters.
  • Provide coaching to Managers, enabling them to resolve poor performance and conduct issues to instil a culture of high performance.
  • Support managers with the performance review process, including identifying and developing promotable talent.
  • Prepare HR Management Information to gain greater insight into the trends and to support continuous improvement in the management and monitoring of sickness absence, performance, retention etc.
  • Pro-actively provide appropriate recommendations to line managers to address identified issues.

  • Investigate employee relations issues including grievances & disciplinaries, and recommend appropriate action, participating in disciplinary hearings where necessary.
  • Provide advice to managers regarding the process of organisational restructuring and redundancy & support them through the implementation process.
  • Prepare Occupational Health management referral paperwork & provide advice to Managers and Environmental Health & Safety as necessary.
  • Recruitment and Selection

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Platform to drive sourcing & recruitment strategies and processes including review and approval of requisitions, participation on interview panels and execution of the new employee on-boarding activities.
  • Support Managers with the recruitment and selection process as required, including advising on the preparation of job descriptions, providing advice to managers on best practice recruitment processes and assisting the Site HR Partner in effectively managing headcount.
  • Provide the HR Service Centre with the appropriate details to complete offer letters and employment contracts.
  • Deliver Site Induction to new employees including a comprehensive induction to new line managers, updating content of induction as required.
  • Payroll Preparation

  • Provide the HR Service Centre with relevant information prior to payroll cut off such as starters, leavers, unpaid absences, family leave, salary increases / decreases, etc.
  • Other general day-to-day duties

  • Support the Site HR Partner with activities that promote and maintain a culture of diversity, inclusion and customer excellence across the UK and Ireland sites.
  • Coach and build the capability of Managers as required and assist with training and development activities.
  • Support as required with other projects, which may arise from time to time for example UK wide projects working cross divisionally such as harmonization and integration initiatives.
  • Actively support the Site HR Partner with implementing / revising existing and / or new policies and procedures to ensure that the Company meets best practice, holds clear consistent policies across all sites and complies with current employment legislation.
  • Assist with recording and preparing data reports and presentations for department and the Site Management team.
  • Ensure Human Resources Information Systems are effectively maintained.
  • Support with the Annual Benefits renewal process for the Division as required.
  • Any other duties as required from time to time, commensurate with the post-holder’s abilities, experience and authorities.

  • To be considered for this role you will be a flexible, highly motivated and experienced HR professional with a passion for process improvement and structured working.

    An eye for detail and a drive for right first time is a must and strong skills with MS Office applications and a fast learner for new applications

    In addition to this we are looking for an individual who is able to demonstrate :

  • Proven generalist HR experience at senior advisor level;
  • Good general knowledge of all key aspects of employment law;
  • Good general knowledge of common HR processes and procedures, e.g. recruitment, performance management, leavers, absence management, restructuring etc.;
  • Ability to research, analyse and reason logically within tight and conflicting time frames;
  • Experience of delivering projects and implementing new initiatives;
  • Ability to identify development needs;
  • CIPD Qualified or equivalent experience.
