WHAT TO EXPECT
An opportunity is available for a Road Load, Lead Engineer within a growing team. You-ll be responsible for delivering certified road loads that support the ambitious efficiency targets of our future vehicles.
The team cover all phases of the development process from benchmarking and target setting, through optimisation to validation and certification.
The Lead Engineer works closely with specialists in the component groups (Tyres, Brake, Driveline etc) and attributes (Weight, Aero) to identify opportunities to minimise the energy required to propel our vehicles and turn them into reality.
In this rapidly advancing field, there will lots of scope to develop and improve processes. The ideal candidate would have a passion for improving efficiency, with knowledge / experience of coast down legislation, data analysis, whole vehicle / system integration and testing or enthusiasm to develop in these areas.
WHAT YOU-LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Reporting to the Aerodynamics & Road Load Group Leader, the successful candidate will be required to support JLR vehicle programmes :
the end result being a certified road load used to calculate the Range / CO2
