Key Responsibilities :
The OTC Commodity Derivative Operations team is responsible for providing front to back support for all Commodities (financial and physical) such as precious metals, Bulks, oil, PG&E, ETD & OTC commodity derivative transactions.
The team will be responsible for confirmations, settlement and reconciliation of the transactions.
This position offers excellent training opportunities to continuously learn and develop across all the products and work closely with all the other divisions that support the Commodity Derivatives product.
Settlement of OTC Commodities transactions across a variety of commodity product groups
Liaise with trading, sales and tech support when required to resolve outstanding settlement issues
Review of trade confirmations to ensure bookings have been executed correctly in the event of settlement discrepancy
Chase counterparts for outstanding settlements not received on due date
Perform reporting duties
Develop a technical understanding of supporting applications and architecture identifying opportunities for improvement and helping to design strategic solutions
Perform UAT (user acceptance testing) as necessary to ensure that there are no bugs in proposed versions to be installed into the live poduction environment
Perform quarterly risk & control self assessments to ensure operating procedures adheres to the Citi policies etc;
Work closely with Ops manager to continually improve the confirmation workflow and systems.
Reconciliation of settlement cash accounts to general ledger
CASS reporting requirements
Knowledge / Experience : Prefered but not essential :
Experience of settlement processes and understanding of operational risk
Exposure to and understanding of commodity products
Ability to learn system processes quickly and suggest improvements to obtain operational efficiency
Proactive mindset with the ability to drive change and follow through issues to closure
Ability to identify gaps in controls and provide solutions to bridge those gaps
Ability to work with IT to provide detailed specifications for requested enhancements
Strong interpersonal skills
Microsoft Office experience (specifically Word and Excel)
