Financial Planning & Analysis Apprentice (AAT Level 4)
As a Rexel Apprentice you will be working in a varied and challenging role, you will be trained in all procedures required, which will give you a fantastic grounding for your future career.
You will be working within the Finance team, supporting the work of the FP&A function across budgeting & forecasting, bonus processes, and Group reporting, with a particular focus on FP&A system support.
In addition, the role will provide contingency support on business systems in the wider Financial Control team. The Apprenticeship offered is Level 4 Professional Accounting.
As a Financial Planning & Analysis Apprentice for Rexel / Denmans, your main responsibilities will be to :
Take ownership of flash reporting cycle, incl. Daily Sales’ into Group reporting system (Magnitude)
To be proficient in the use of the TM1 and Group budgeting systems, incl. bottom-up’ budgets, head office budgets, and fielding budget queries
To produce MI and Financial data / reports for use in monthly reporting cycles (e.g. Business Reviews, Package Reviews, Mid-month Margin Reviews
To be responsible for administration of the FP&A function, co-ordinating completion of BR decks, PR responses, budget timetable & working sessions etc.
To support the FP&A Manager in the production of the quarterly and annual bonus calculations
To provide accurate and timely reporting on Cap-Ex spend in the Rexel & Denmans network
To assist the Management Accounts team in month-end close, with particular focus on system support
Ensure that all processes and procedures are documented and updated as required, and that they are routinely followed
To support the FP&A Manager in fielding ad hoc requests for financial reports
The Person :
Part-Qualified accountant (either AAT Level 3 or studying towards AAT Level 3) with strong numerical reasoning ability a keen eye for detail and confidence in their own judgment
Experience of using an ERP system in addition to manipulating and analysing large volumes of data to support decision making
Highly effective communicator written and oral
Able to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders in matrix management environment
Ideally 2+ years in a fast-paced, finance function either as a business analyst, or assistant accountant
Experience of working in either a retail / wholesale environment, or in a business with a branch network, would be desirable
Role would suit someone currently at or studying towards AAT Level 3
Min. 5 GCSEs A-C, incl. English & Maths
Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce and present financial / statistical data
Proficient, confident user of IT and Finance systems
