    Track 25 and McLaren Automotive’ s growing reputation is testament to our world class employees. To ensure McLaren Automotive continues to be at the forefront of the Automotive market, we are looking for an Intern to join as an Architectural / CAD Technician.

    This is a one year fixed term role that would be ideally suited to a graduate who is at the stage of taking a year out of their Architectural course, before they commence RIBA certification

    Purpose of the Role :

    To generate and maintain all Facility drawing records.

    Role Dimensions :

  • The role of CAD Technician reports to the Building Projects Manager, but will also support other disciplines within the MMS team
  • The position will be based at the McLaren Technology Centre
  • Travel to other McLaren Facilities will be required
  • Flexible approach to working hours, there may be times when some activities require longer time to support tight deadlines.
  • Principal Accountabilities :

  • Carry out Building audit and survey work
  • Update and maintain General Arrangement Records.
  • Update and maintain Building Occupation Layouts including Intranet Records.
  • Update, maintain and improve the AutoCAD Component Library.
  • General Drawing Requests
  • Generate layout options in accordance with a given brief.
  • Generate presentation and 3D images
  • Generate, update and maintain existing Solid Works components library relating to MTC bespoke items.
  • Generate, update and maintain electrical schematics.
  • Generate, update and maintain mechanical schematics
  • Maintain existing building fabric and furniture stock records.
  • Assist the Building Projects Manager with the processing of Change Requests (Building Project works).
  • Provide regular progress report to the Building Projects Manager.
  • Maintaining and servicing the plotter facility.
  • Other duties as may be requested.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience :

  • Proficient user of AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT.
  • Experience and or knowledge of Buildings and infrastructure. BTEC Building Studies or other similar qualification.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office & Outlook

  • Ability to deliver whilst working under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Excellent team member who can confidently work on their own and in a team
  • Excellent attention to detail to complete tasks to the high standards expected
