Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role) : Engineering, development and integration of body electrical systems into the overall vehicle electrical architecture (e.

g. locking, window & mirror control, alarm and climate control). Realisation of the body electrical system using a combination of carry-

over, modified and new components in collaboration with the Body & Trim function group. Guidance to ensure that control units and peripherals are correctly located and packaged in accordance with installation and wiring requirements.

Compliance with any necessary environmental and EMC requirements. Participation in system review, verification & validation activities including FMEAs, ISO26262 functional safety, EMC and functionality tests throughout the development lifecycle.

Fault identification and resolution including management of issues to closure. Tier 1 supplier management and co-ordination including support for Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Provision of support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments including development of service procedures and diagnostic functionality.

The job description may not detail some less major duties,nor cover duties of a similar nature commensurate with the role which may bereasonably required by the Chief Engineer.

Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria) Essential Criteria : Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar engineering degree and / or equivalent Demonstrable understanding of electrical architectures, electrical peripherals, CAN / FlexRay / LIN networks, wiring and diagnostic technologies Proven track record of system / component design and delivery within an automotive / aerospace / telecommunications or similar engineering environment Articulate, self-

motivated and able to work well on own initiative Experience of system / component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc.

Other information Occasional travel to China and within the EU.
