Reporting to the Regional Fleet Engineer, you will be responsible for continually improving the operational performance at the Middlesbrough workshop in supporting the operations team to ensure excellent service is delivered to our customers.
This role would suit someone with a Heavy Goods Vehicle Engineering background who has a passion to deliver results.

You will be responsible for managing the maintenance workshop team at the Middlesbrough Workshop and positively engage the team to maintain and encourage a positive working environment.
In addition to excellent organisational skills, you will have the ability to prioritise tasks effectively to ensure the reliability of the fleet in accordance with DVSA.
The successful candidate must have excellent time management, and be able to attend meetings including Microsoft Teams and conference calls.
You will be expected to carry out Accident / MOT / PG9 investigations and report findings to the Regional Fleet Engineer.
Ensure Health and Safety policies, procedures and practices are maintained to Biffa standards and reviewed regularly to satisfy auditing purposes.
Ensure personnel and workshop records with regards to training, PPE, holidays, sickness, tool box talks, and bulletins are recorded and signed by all employees and kept up to date.
Vehicle records Servicing, MOT’s, Lolers, Tacho’s, planners and vehicle safety standards are upheld as per regular audits and recorded on Fleetwave.
KPI’s and budgets are monitored with a view to continuously improve and make more efficient and cost effective decision making.
Liaise with Depot Managers on driver damage, misuse and road traffic accidents regularly.
Manage impress stock by carrying out stock checks, parts and oils.
