Due to an expected absence at our partner Secondary School in Scarborough, I am looking for a Teaching Assistant who could support the Food Technology Teacher during the lessons (Food Technician).

The ideal Food Technology Technician will have experience of either working in a busy kitchen or be comfortable to work as a Teaching Assistant in the Food Technology department (Food Technician).

As a Food Technology Teaching Assistant (Technician) you will be required to :

  • support the Food Technology teacher by setting up the classroom prior to the lessons
  • prepare the ingredients and ensure stock rotation / maintain stock levels
  • support the pupils during the lessons
  • clean up at the end of the school day
  • ensure safety of children and staff at all times
  • To be successful in this Food Technician role (Food Technology Teaching Assistant job), ideally you will have a Food Hygiene qualification and experience in working in a school environment.

    Possessing a graduate degree will be an advantage, but the minimum requirement for this roles is to possess GCSEs (or equivalent) and to understand what working in a kitchen may entail.

    This position will be full time during schools hours, ideally between 8am and 2pm, but there may be some flexibility on the hours.

    The role will be to cover for an operation, therefore it will be for a minimum of two months and possibly longer than that.

    We can offer a rate of pay of GBP9.50-GBP10.50 per hour, depending on experience, paid on a weekly basis on PAYE.
