Overview : Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant for France and Spain will be responsible for P&L and balance sheet accounting as well as supporting financial reporting and compliance for our French and Spanish entities.
You will supervise postings performed by the accounts payable and receivable team. The company currently uses an external firm for payroll, statutory reporting, compliance and tax.
The ideal candidate will be well organised, able to communicate fluently in French and Spanish, and have strong general IT skills.
Review the sales invoice postings for accuracy and coding.
Review the invoices posted to cost of goods and book any adjustments where necessary.
Review the AP and AR postings for accuracy and coding.
Review and approve the regular payment runs.
Post all and confirm all intercompany recharges to the other group entities.
Liaise with payroll team to obtain and post all payroll entries.
Liaise with the third party provider to ensure that all tax accounting and compliance is made on time e.g. TVA / IVA, intra stat, Statutory accounts, draft corporate tax, etc.
Be responsible for answering any budget or financial questions raised by the Accounting controller / director / FP&A team.
Work with the Treasury Director to update the cash flow forecasts.
Support the FP&A team through the annual budgeting process for the French and Spanish entities.
P&L / BS analysis and coding of adjustments
Assume responsibility for dealing with external audit queries for entities under review
Ad hoc administrative and reporting support
Fluent in French, and at least intermediate Spanish
Confident in math / excel / accounting / retail & logistics
Well organized, efficient and able to manage a varied workload
Good attention to detail
Good interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator at all levels
Systems and Essentials
Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field of study
Familiarity working with systems such as Infor M3 and SAP, preferred although not essential
Advanced Excel skills
