Scheduled Care Surgery Directorate Manager inc. Ophthalmology, Head and Neck, ENT (subject to organisational review).

Salary : Band 8b

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the operational, performance management, quality agenda and development of strategies for Surgery services at Blackpool Teaching Hospital.

The Directorate Manager for Surgery will lead service improvement and performance strategies to support the delivery of patient care across the Trust and, with our partners within the wider health economy.

With the ability to articulate a vision and turn this into reality, you will have a track record of leadership and commitment.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and patient driven with an in-depth understanding of service delivery from clinical and managerial perspectives.

You will also have previous experience of line management, developing business cases, implementing change and project management.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite, you will be expected to manage your time carefully and, able to prioritise conflicting demands, whilst working with a wide range of stakeholders to provide a single pan-trust service which meets the needs of our patients.

You will be required to work closely with the Head of Department and together ensure the development of the department and service to deliver an excellent service meeting targets of service delivery.
