Kite, a Gilead Company, is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the development of innovative cancer immunotherapies with a goal of providing rapid, long-term durable response and eliminating the burden of chronic care.
The company is focused on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) and T cell receptor (TCR) engineered cell therapies designed to empower the immune system's ability to recognise and kill tumours.
Kite’s first CAR T cell therapy has been available in the UK for 18 months for patients with relapsed or refractory (R / R) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma or primary mediastinal large B cell lymphoma after two or more lines of systemic therapy.
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Marketer to join the UK affiliate based in Holborn, London reporting into the Business Unit Director.
The successful candidate will be fully responsible for leading the marketing effort for Kite Cell Therapy in the UK & Ireland.
This includes all operational marketing aspects such as leading the cross-functional Brand team, as well as regular contribution in the European Brand Team.
Primary responsibility to lead the planning, development and execution of integrated marketing strategies for the Cell Therapy franchise.
Such activities will also include performance and tracking metrics for plan evaluation, as well as managing the marketing budget.
Lead the UK&I Kite Brand Team to develop cross-functional activities in line with Kite Brand strategies
Develop effective working relationships with opinion leaders and other key stakeholders to strengthen Kite’s position within the market.
Liaise with IHQ to ensure alignment of UK campaigns to Global plans
Demonstrate leadership excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects and priorities, including close working with agencies
Leverage primary and secondary market research and analytics critical to directing brand strategies and optimising marketing tactics.
Demonstrate ability to identify issues or opportunities, and formulate plans to manage or leverage the situation.
Analyzes complex problems and situations, provides logical recommendations and leads any required action planning.
Sets priorities in circumstances of continued complex and conflicting requirements.
Takes a lead role in representing company at professional events and promotes company products at such events.
Ensures that all marketing activities are in compliant with Gilead SOP and ABPI Code of Practice.
Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is required.
Recognised expertise in implementing a pharmaceutical communication plan including generating publications, organizing continuing medical education activities and advocacy development.
Must be very familiar with industry trends and remain current with competitor’s resources and practices.
Must have a successful record of developing external relationships leading to brand advocacy.
Must have a track record of successful pharma / biotech patient / community marketing with an understanding of expense budget planning and tracking.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports.
Strong strategic thinker with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy.
Excellent analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and understand complex issues and problems, and interpret information in a manner that provides appropriate recommendations to senior management and across functional areas.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines.
Must possess sophisticated negotiating, influencing, project management and consulting skills.
Organizational skill, including ability to follow assignments through to completion (bias towards execution).
Excellent communications skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing are required.
Must possess the ability to maintain, develop, and utilize a level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to Key Opinion Leaders.
Proven curriculum development and instructional design skills. In-depth familiarity and knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices for training is required.
Specific education and experience requirements
solid and proven pharmaceutical industry experience.
Undergraduate Degree in Life Sciences, Marketing or equivalent
Previous experience in marketing research and / or pharmaceutical sales is required.
In-depth knowledge and experience in haematology / oncology market is preferred.
e-Marketing experience is preferred
Competent experience of using Microsoft Office products is required
