About the role

Reporting to the Head of Finance for Global Overheads, the role will be responsible for business partnering our newly created Dyson Business Services function.

This includes yearly Budget planning, actuals tracking, quarterly reforecast, investment appraisal and project accounting.

The role will be required to work closely with the functional leads to drive highly reliable financial planning and optimal decision making.

  • Drive efficiencies wherever possible by gaining deep understanding of the Function to meet the ambitious financial targets set by the Leadership
  • To ensure timely financial management information is prepared, including incisive commentary backed by detailed analysis of spend
  • Work in partnership with the Global budget holders and the Group Finance team to provide accurate and comprehensive annual budgets
  • To independently conduct monthly review meetings with Senior budget holders and the Head of Finance
  • To contribute to the wider Global Overheads team agenda, which includes knocking down our processes or systems-related barriers to execution
  • Support the monthly presentation of financial performance, full year forecasts and budget variances including understanding financial opportunities and risk
  • To build strong relations across the Organisation and provide financial support to decision making
  • To deliver ready-to-use, Executive-level deliverables presenting key Financial information in an accessible way for a non-Finance Senior audience
  • Be comfortable dealing with and working through issues and operational challenges with project teams and other stakeholders, getting into details to ensure you understand the cost drivers of the business and can feedback relevant insights
  • About you

  • Strong Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Ability to deliver complex analysis in a very accessible, structured way to Executive stakeholders
  • Cost controlling activities delivered as part of your business as usual remit or as large, complex projects in large organisations
  • Solid accounting skills, diligent and accurate
  • Experience of running and performing budgeting or forecasting processes
  • Excellent spread sheet skills, including being comfortable with pivots, advanced formulae and charting
  • Good PowerPoint skills and attention to slide design
  • Proven track record of Financial operational and controlling excellence
  • Excellent analytical ability with a great attention to detail
  • A team player with a positive, will do’ attitude and the ability to be flexible yet have a disciplined approach
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a simple, structured way to support business decisions
  • Determined and assertive, prepared to get into the detail to understand the complex cost drivers of the business
  • Mature and robust personality
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise workload and ability to work to strict reporting deadlines
  • Prior experience of Management Accounts is essential (5 years minimum)
  • Desirable

  • Experience within a financial planning and analysis environment
  • Investment Appraisal / Financial modelling of commercial decisions
  • SAP experience
