The role holder will set and deliver transformational goals for theRegion within Business Banking, manage ambiguity and drive through change, andbuild the reputation and performance of their department through activeengagement with all relevant stakeholders.

They will lead the Region to meet customerneeds and provide a superior customer experience to be delivered byprofessionally trained people and market leading products and services.

They will lead, inspire and coach a Regional Team to deliversustainable, quality growth and achieve all aspects of the Annual OperatingPlan (AOP).

This will be achieved by :

Leading and developing a team, establishing cultural and behaviouralexcellence, high engagement, performance managing effectively and identifyingand developing talent and potential for the benefit of the Bank.

  • Creation of a culture that has treating customers fairly’ at its core, and is focused on customer experience and the professionalism of our service proposition.
  • Making sure the customer is at the centre of all our dealings.

  • Driving activity and the sustainable income growth of all Commercial Areas in the Region.
  • Ensuring the Region is joined up’ with Business Banking as a whole, MME, LC , RBWM and all Product partner propositions, by effective and proactive interface with peers.
  • Lead a team that manage and improve the quality of the audit, credit and operational risk environment in each Regional Area, to meet group standards while delivering income, customer and business growth.
  • Represent HSBC externally as a senior executive for the Commercial business, taking every opportunity to promote our brand and how we can support customers and businesses to grow.
  • Yourresponsibilities will include :

    Leadthe Region in the execution of the Business Banking strategy to drive revenueand PBT growth, and achieve AOP targets while building a sustainable businessmodel by implementing a liabilities and transaction-

    led strategy to growdeposits, increase share of fee income and manage margins by growing assets

    Effectivelymanage direct and allocated indirect expenses based on the agreed budget.

    Developand deploy an effective acquisition and retention strategy to increase HSBC’smarket share and gain larger share of wallet in the UK.

    Strivefor class-leading customer experience by cultivating a consistent selling andrelationship management culture.

    Supportthe long-term strategic vision and direction for Business Banking UK andidentify and embed the key steps necessary for achievement in line with theregional and global strategy.

    Throughinspirational leadership, motivate the Region and frontline teams to maximisetheir potential and champion Business Banking agenda internally and externally.

    Maintainand observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group CompliancePolicy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made byinternal / external auditors and external regulators.

    Fostera compliance culture and implement Group Compliance Policy by managingcompliance risk through the Regional and Area Teams, ensuring adequatecompliance resources are in place and training is provided, optimisingrelations with regulators.

    Qualifications

    The idealcandidate for this role will have :

  • Proven and progressive business development,sales management, and credit experience or equivalent
  • Managed a P&L of a business segment / area
  • People management experience, including managing team managers
  • Strong organisational, analytical, negotiation,communication, teamwork and influencing skills

    Extensive knowledge and proven sales successwith the Bank’s products and services, or equivalent

  • Extensive product knowledge of Business Banking
  • The baselocation for this role is Guildford and will be covering the South and SouthEast of England.
