We are looking for a passionate and resilient social worker to join us in ChECS, the Cheshire East Consultation Service which forms part of our Integrated Front Door, the gateway to Children’s Services.
ChECS deals with initial contacts and referrals across the levels of need from partner agencies, members of the public or families themselves requesting support and advice.
The service is staffed by qualified and experienced Social Workers and Practitioner Support Officers who give advice about cases and refer them on to Early Help or Children’s Services as appropriate.
Each contact is overseen by a Team Manager whether this is a referral for Early Help, support and advice or a safeguarding issue.
You will need to be a qualified and HCPC registered social worker with experience in safeguarding vulnerable children under Child in Need / Child Protection and a sound understanding of the thresholds of needs and intervention.

Cheshire East Children’s Services has introduced Signs of Safety as our operational model and a rolling programme of training will be available to all new staff.
There are opportunities to become involved in additional roles that promote partnership working within the Integrated Front Door and across other service areas and roles that include building / sustaining positive links with partner agencies.
The IFD was part of a peer review in July 2019 and we take pride in the positive feedback provided : Practitioners were passionate about getting it right for children and young people.
