This role is basedin Marlow, Buckinghamshire

Our technology

Cobham AerospaceConnectivity design and manufacture active and passive avionics antennas andelectronic control systems for military and civil communications, navigationand search and rescue applications.

Wepioneered frequency agile VHF tuneable antennas and continue to be a keysupplier to major avionics companies. Our GPS anti-

jam technology utilises state of the art DSP algorithmswith an active antenna to eliminate both narrow-band and wide-band jammingsignals.

We have world leadingtechnology in Ground Penetrating Radar and RF interference mitigation. Bothmilitary and civil users rely on our direction finding systems for search andrescue operations.

As aManufacturing Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include :

  • Good problem solving skills, Green Belt would be advantageous but is not necessary.
  • Good project management skills
  • Understanding of the processes used within Marlow.Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Tools essential, SysPro and SinglePoint useful but can be trained
  • Awareness of APQP and DfSS would be useful
  • As aManufacturing Engineer your main responsibilities will involve :

  • To work with the manufacturing cells to identify, contain and resolve Operational issues
  • Processing and investigating Non Conformance Reports, and raising and pushing Change Requests through the system.
  • Supporting Operational questions when building products.
  • Reviewing and updating Process Specifications.
  • Containing and resolving issues with Problem Children parts and helping identify them.
  • Identifying and, where necessary designing, new tools for Operations.To support the business in meeting capacity constraints by :

  • Supporting Readiness to SubCon reviews, where appropriate.
  • Highlighting where changes in run rates may impact Operations (e.g. constraints)
  • Highlighting and purchasing new equipment to improve productivityTo support the on-going development of the business in terms of improving efficiencies and reducing lead times by :
  • Developing investment proposals to improve Operational Performance (e.g. capital).
  • Defining and managing the local revenue budget.
  • Developing process proposals to reduce processcomplexity and improve standardisation.

    To manage the npi process from a ManufacturingEngineering perspective.

    Develop cost models, run risk reduction reviews, etc.

    Work with Engineering to understand which featuresdrive product performance and develop approaches to control them.

    To work with other functions to improve theOperational Effectiveness of their Manufacturing Cells in terms of Safety,Quality, Lead-

    Time, Cost and People Development.

  • To support the development of Apprentices when assigned to Manufacturing Engineering.
