Business Intelligence Systems (BIS) is a fundamental layer in Next’s Systems architecture. We are responsible for transforming vast amounts of business data into meaningful information that the business relies upon for day to day operations, performance reporting and business analysis.
BIS works with all areas of the business from Finance, to Marketing, to Warehouse Operations and Product teams.
We have a number of new projects to support including new business initiatives and upgrading our infrastructure with the latest technology and services.

About the Role
As a Data Quality Developer, you will be responsible for ensuring the data output from BIS is of the highest quality. This will require you working closely with the development teams to put in place robust testing plans for new developments and monitoring and implementing data quality from existing deployments.
You will be expected to deep dive into data and uncover issues analysing complex processes to identify the cause of problems.
You will build processes and systems to monitor and report data quality KPI’s using Data Quality and Data Management best practices and implement, configure and administer DQ software.
You will act as a data steward taking responsibility to protect and improve data assets. You will be expected to coach the wider development team on data quality controls and influence SLA commitments to the business.
You will have strong analytical skills with the ability to focus on the details. You will be an excellent investigator constantly looking for data issues and able to root cause problems.
You will be process minded with the ability to design and implement new processes to enhance our data quality practises.
You will be able to define effective measures of data quality and build meaningful reporting KPI systems.
With your strong understanding of data quality principles and the ETL process you will be able to challenge developers to build data quality into new deployments and identify weaknesses in existing ones.
You will be able to profile and monitor data and suggest business rules to ensure that quality issues are captured before they propagate to operational systems.
You will understand parsing and data cleansing processes to offer the ability for BIS to enhance source data.
Your communication skills will be excellent. You will be able to convey effectively technical issues with data quality and present solutions to a variety of stakeholders on how we can improve data quality.
