In this role you will be responsible and accountable for all test and quality assurance outcomes within your assigned domain, working within the domain backbone to ensure all demand is estimated, planned and delivered to expected levels.

You will work across other domains when required to ensure any dependencies are

identified, understood and acted upon. Owns and reports on all Quality

Assurance delivery outcomes for all delivery residing in their domain.

Owns all test / quality assurance strategies, plans, risks and issues

associated with deliverables and drives efficiency and more effective

ways of executing test delivery for their domain. Challenges the normal

approach and provides alternatives for improvement.

Maintains an End to End processing view of the applications, their

dependencies, organisational goals and overall technology arenas to

enable effective planning and execution of test and quality assurance

deliverables.

Owns and is accountable for all commercial matters relating to the test

and quality assurance service provided by their domain including all

resourcing and workforce planning.

Key responsibilities Provides test and quality assurance leadership to all domain test

QA resources

Be accountable for the end to end Quality and Assurance services

to the products, projects, programmes and releases within their

domain.

Owns all resourcing and workforce planning for quality assurance

resources engaged within domain delivery

Has experience of test / quality assurance process transformation

and can pro-actively analyse existing process and practises,

suggesting and driving improvements where necessary.

Has wide reaching scope, impact and influence extending beyond

test and assurance and spans across the T&LLIT product

development teams

Collaborates effectively and on an ongoing basis with their peer

group across delivery within the domain.

Actively participates or leads in the development of test / quality

assurance strategies, estimation, planning, and delivery against

domain portfolio.

Mentors and guides junior staff to build overall capability within

the department.

Involved with understanding business requirements and works

with the various stakeholders to translate those requirements

into testable artefacts, strategies and approaches.

Manages risk and owns issues arising within their domain.

Ultimately responsible for all resource management for all

delivery residing in their domain ensuring a cost-effective test

service is delivered across both FTE and vendor resources.

Is results oriented and has a high degree of accountability,

commitment and responsibility.

Works across peer-group to ensure domain process, reporting &

tooling is consistent across all other domains.

Provide transparency (working with the Test Management Office)

to key stakeholders of testing progress, risks and cost of quality.

Continually refine and improve the test / Q.A. approach driving in

appropriate methods to support the overall delivery approach

  • We are looking for

  • Someone who thrives on driving change - working with an organization that is immature on Testing Best Practises and can build a strategy and a plan for change and for maturing the organization.
  • Experience of managing multiple deliveries with commercial accountability for test and quality assurance outcomes.
  • The ability to work with stakeholders both within the Test and Assurance space also with senior business and IT stakeholdersand can stand up for the case of improving Test & Assurance Practises.
  • Strong personality who can persuade and influence peer group and wider on quality assurance matters and have them considered in the delivery process
  • Previous experience of managing vendors and 3rd party service suppliers.
  • Previous experience of setting strategy and direction, and being part of a Test / Quality Assurance Delivery Leadership function
  • Excels at stakeholder management and communication and able to build credibility and demonstrate the value of Quality & Testing.
  • Proven successful test delivery experience within a large, global organisation
  • Leadership skills and gravitas to be able to influence and report in to senior business leaders.
