My client is now looking to recruit an Ecologist to join the team in Suffolk.
Applying for the role of Ecologist, you should :
Have a relevant undergraduate degree and ideally a post graduate qualification
Be a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
Have 2-3 years’ experience working within the ecological consultancy sector
Have proven experience in planning and implementing habitat surveys and protected species surveys
Have experience in preparing licences for protected species and have, or be working towards, at least one protected species licence, e.g. bat, GCN, dormouse
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have experience in specification and implementation of ecological mitigation
Have good knowledge of current UK wildlife legislation
Working as an Ecologist, your main duties will include :
Undertaking a wide range of ecological surveys, e.g. Phase 1 Habitat Surveys
Producing well written ecological reports and documentation
Involvement in ecological risk management
Assisting in the day to day management of work activities
Liaising with sub-consultants and other members of the wider project team
Overseeing the fieldwork of seasonal staff, monitoring performance and assisting when necessary
