Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant required to support KS3 & KS4 Pupils in a SEN School in North Bristol from Sept’19. This Teaching Assistant role will be working direct for an SEN School as a SEN Teaching Assistant, but working off site at a mainstream Secondary School where they support the KS3 / 4 pupils with ASD and Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.

The school are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who is a team player, calm, patient, reliable and can follow instruction whilst also being pro-active and forward thinking in their approach.

A good sense of humour is a must and the ability to adapt very quickly as and when needed is necessary.

The ideal Teaching Assistant for this role will have :

Experience or a willingness to work as a Teaching Assistant with KS3 / 4 students

Experience of supporting young people with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome in a school or care setting

Knowledge of behavioural management techniques is a must

A valid TeamTeach Certificate or a willingness to complete TeamTeach training provided by Monarch Education (Essential)

As a SEN Teaching Assistant at the school you will be supporting students on a one to one and small class basis, either on the main school site or in their SEN provision.

This is a full-time temporary permanent Teaching Assistant position, Monday to Friday and Term Time only. The Teaching Assistant position does have the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
