Reporting to the Sales Director, the purpose of this post is to work with an Account Manager on a set of assigned customer accounts in order to maximise the growth potential in line with the business strategy and deliver a high level customer satisfaction, to help develop a strategic partnerships which is an integral part of the business ethos.

The role is varied; predominately office based with some external customer meetings and requires a flexible, enthusiastic account executive that has the ability to multitask in a fast-

paced environment. Creative and passionate about products the role enables development of a variety of skills from new product creation through to sales and marketing, an opportunity to develop designated accounts and business acumen.

Laleham Health and Beauty are a large growing business, operating over two production sites, within the field of toiletries, pharmaceutical, medical device and nutritionals.

Within the beauty area we cover a range of categories including body care, skincare, hair care and styling. Working with a variety of blue chip, high street retailers and brand owners across masstige and premium markets mainly within the UK although our customer portfolio is global in sales.

This will give the right candidate exposure to a wide variety of disciplines and client environments and develop industry and market knowledge across a breadth of categories.

Duties will include :

  • Following training, the initial key duties of the post are as follows;
  • To ensure profitable, sustainable growth from a set of designated accounts with AM support.
  • Work with an AM for a designated range of existing customers within the business portfolio, opportunities to increase breadth of account expertise as new businesses are awarded
  • Responsible for maximising growth through partnership development and business plan implementation
  • Identify opportunities and supporting strategic business plans to deliver on objectives
  • Commercial analysis, costing and price reviews in line with business directives
  • Support and prepare for negotiation and quotation of commercial submissions to customers with AM
  • Responsible for maintenance of account paperwork and filing including business requirements for example sales projections
  • Supporting with creation of new product ideas and concepts with the internal & external teams
  • Presenting and influencing customers using a variety of sales skills to ensure business growth
  • Working internally across departments to anticipate requirements and achieve customer commitments with exposure to manufacturing and production as well as new product introduction team
  • Understanding of allocated customer markets and strategies within the accounts
  • Research consumer markets, monitoring trends and identifying potential area’s for growth through product evaluation, gap analysis and other marketing tools
  • Ability to manage own workload to ensure deadlines are achieved and prioritising where appropriate
  • Work closely with the Technical and Operational Teams to understand how on-going investment can complement and improve customers product ranges
  • Assist the project manager in risk analysis and solution management, including critical path management and all aspects of the new product introduction process
  • Support AM on Value Engineering Projects for given customer base
  • Work with the customer demand team to review OTIF and service level
  • Ensure that all required customer information is maintained and kept up to date
  • Keep the customer updated with actions relating to any complaints or quality issues
  • Carry out other associated projects and duties as determined by Line Manager
  • Skills required :

  • Demonstrates a basic knowledge and understanding of the principles of relationships building, customer focus, communication, teamwork and flexibility
  • Understanding of marketing and sales principles
  • Experience in working as part of a team to exceed customer expectations
  • Have good analytical skills and confident approach to presenting and questioning skills
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Health and Beauty industry and have a creative flair and instinctive feeling about future product opportunities and concepts
  • Be energetic and passionate about customers and products
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal confidently with a wide range of people from different departments and levels of the business and within customer accounts.
  • Be organised and methodical

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload in order to deal with conflicting demands and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to apply tact and discretion in the handling of sensitive material and confidential information
  • A good listener, able to respond to customer and market requirements and willing to take the initiative where appropriate

  • Qualifications required :

  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade A C (Grade 4 to 9) including English and Maths

    Following training, the development and progression opportunities within this role are :

  • To manage any required BOM amendments for designated Customers through the relevant site NPI process, liaising directly with Customers on their requirements.
  • To manage any required amendments to or creation of Packaging Specification requests as and when required.
