Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Manager / Associate Director to join our Global Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) team.
You will execute strategic plans to optimize the supporting evidence and value proposition of Vertex products through each stage of the development and commercial lifecycle.
Your ability to work effectively in a highly matrix environment will help you to be successful. You will have a successful track record of executing HEOR studies and related publications, including in-
depth pharmacoeconomic modeling, patient-reported outcomes analysis, and observational research. Your strong dedication to achieving corporate objectives while maintaining the highest ethical, regulatory and scientific standards will be essential.
You will report to the Senior Director of Global HEOR.
Key Responsibilities :
Identify and execute creative HEOR solutions that are necessary to support Medical, Commercial and Market Access plans.
Studies may include, but are not limited to :
Retrospective database analyses
Non-interventional real-world outcomes studies
Cost-effectiveness and budget impact models
Indirect treatment comparisons and systematic reviews
Patient-reported Outcome (PRO) development and validation
Effectively lead external research partners ensuring projects are scientifically rigorous, medically relevant and address business needs as well as the needs of patients, health care providers and payers.
Excellent project management is a pre-requisite to ensure studies delivered on time and within budget
Work with external research partners to craft pharmacoeconomic models to support Vertex medicines in the US and Ex-US, ensuring the model is consistent with the products value story and meets the minimum requirements for particular jurisdictions
Support the integration of HEOR evidence in HTA submissions for relevant therapeutic assets
Train and support US Managed Markets and International Market Access teams on relevant HEOR data, cost-effectiveness models and budget impact models
Work closely with Global Marketing, Clinical / Medical, and other functional teams to support and improve access to our marketed products across various regions
Advanced degree (e.g. PhD, MD, MPH, or PharmD) in a scientific discipline. A clinical background should be supplemented with advanced quantitative training demonstrated by an MPH or MS in a relevant field.
Minimum of 4 years of combined experience in health economics and outcomes research, with at least 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
A track record of peer-reviewed publications demonstrating experience in PROs, observational research, and / or health economic modeling
Demonstrated capabilities to execute a wide range of HEOR studies
In depth pharmacoeconomic modeling experience and demonstrated capabilities
A working knowledge of health technology assessment processes and guidelines health technology assessment processes and guidelines in key jurisdictions.
An understanding of clinical development strategies and trial designs
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills essential
Results oriented and excellent analytic and collaboration skills combined with robust project management capabilities
