We are seeking a proactive and motivated team member to support the Head of Data Compliance and Records Management in providing oversight of Data Protection, and Freedom of Information / Environmental Information Regulations requests at the University.
The role will be busy and varied, and will require proactive and collaborative working with a range of stakeholders.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for carrying out a range activities in relation to data and records management, ensuring adherence to university policy and compliance with the relevant legislation.
You will provide advice and training on information related policy and legislation, will have good communication skills, and will use initiative and judgement to communicate complex information and resolve enquiries and issues effectively and within strict deadlines .
This is a key compliance role, and you will join the Legal and Governance team, which is responsible for a range of work, including :
You will work closely with colleagues at all levels, from across the university to ensure personal data processing of data subjects (for example, staff and students) is compliant with applicable Data Protection legislation, and associated risks are managed.
To succeed in this role you will have a working knowledge of the requirements established by data protection and freedom of information / EIR legislation, with experience of applying the legislation, or a role involving confidential information and governance.
