Overall Purpose of the Job :
Overall responsibility for management and delivery of operating plans and processes necessary for the Wotton site to achieve KPI’s and delivery of customer requirements on time and within budget whilst achieving quality and safety standards.
Leadership and development of teams within Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain, with additional responsibilities as the senior leader on site for the development of a positive working environment across the entire site, aligned to the Brooks Values, with high levels of employee engagement.
Key responsibilities :
Ensure that the site operates within all necessary statutory and corporate health, safety and environmental requirements, ensuring that safety is a fundamental value in all activities undertaken.
Overall management of manufacturing : Assure on time delivery and assist in addressing production problems and the resolution of customer complaints.
Ensure tracking, daily management and use of key performance indicators to promote improved operational and business results (Plan-Do-Check-Act).
Drive Business Process Improvements / Continuous Improvement activities to achieve productivity, efficiency and KPIs, and improve employee engagement.
Maximise utilisation, reliability and efficiency of plant and equipment, ensuring a robust program of TPM. Recommend process / equipment modification for upgrades that improve safety, quality, cost and productivity performance.
Manage manufacturing projects, capital investments and process improvements, working closely with the C&I Engineering Team as appropriate.
Ensure compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements.
Responsible for all people management aspects of team members including recruitment, onboarding, training & development, and performance management.
Work closely with direct reports with input from Human Resources to identify and develop talent to provide a succession pipeline for future sustainability of the business.
Monitor and evaluate team member performance and capabilities, and adjust training where needed.
As designated Site Leader, and working through the site management team, maximise communication channels to ensure employees are aware of local and global organization performance, through for example monthly All Hands meetings and team meetings etc.
Continuously strive to develop a positive, team based organization across the Wotton site that embraces the Brooks Values of Customer Focus, Achievement, Teamwork, Accountability, Employee Value and Integrity.
Drive employee engagement through suggestion systems, performance feedback and recognition, talent management, individual development plans and training.
Reporting Structure :
Reports directly to the Director of Operations, Consumables & Instruments, based in North America
Works closely with departmental managers within Consumables & Instruments, based in Wotton and the Manchester site, e.g.
Engineering, Product Management, and with support functions of HR and Finance.
