Your Role

The Business Support Lead works within the Global Portfolio Operations EMEA function to provide operational and administrative support to this business unit and the wider Front Office Teams.

The role is responsible for co-ordinating and ensuring the completion of all Business as Usual (BAU) activity within the team and take an active role in undertaking the various functions.

The individual will be required to form relationships with key business areas and functions and will eventually be viewed as an SME within Portfolio Operations.

The incumbent will develop a high level of knowledge and technical experience to allow them to effectively manage all Custody and related functions supported by the Team and the wider Global Portfolio Operations Team.

You will be responsible for :

  • Listing co-ordinate the Business as Usual (BAU) activities of the Business Support Team ensuring workload is allocated equitably and individual team member have the tools, skills and training to complete the tasks accurately and effectively.
  • Supporting the Custody on-boarding function, this includes; transitions, account onboarding, new market opening requests
  • Assisting with the management of custodian relationships globally. Helping co-ordinate service reviews meetings with custodian and internal groups and other external meetings with global partners.
  • Managing the EMEA Securities Lending Program. This includes handling the relationship with the Lending Agent and reporting and exception analysis and resolution.
  • Actively participating in projects and initiatives impacting Global Portfolio Services and Invesco collaborating closely and developing productive relationships with the various investment centers across the business globally.
  • Assisting with the data maintenance activities, for example Settlement Instructions held on the DTCC Alert application
  • Maintaining all relevant policy and governance documentation; interpret and implement changes as required liaising with Global Investment centers, legal, Compliance, and external parties.
  • Reviewing and enhancing existing processes and procedures to meet changes in process, legislation and regulations, complimentary to a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture.
  • Actively looking for and implement opportunities for process automation and efficiency enhancements
  • Technical overseeing, monitoring and reviewing of delegated reporting activities provided by external partners. Provide MIS metrics and custodian performance analysis for distribution to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Providing support to the Head of Portfolio Operations and the wider leadership GPS team, undertaking ad-hoc functions and deliverables as when the Business demands.
  • Defining key performance indicators and metrics to measure performance and identify trends, challenges and opportunities.
  • Undertaking in-depth analysis of this data to support identifying trends, enhancing processes and procedures to mitigate any associated risks.
  • Managing the Custody Billing function
  • Developing a deep understanding and awareness of regulatory and product requirements.
  • The skills and experience you’ll bring

    You will have

  • Previous experience within the securities / investment industry or similar environment is desirable.
  • Experience in custody and / or opening new markets would be an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills necessary to maintain relationships and interact effectively with individuals at all levels across business functions.
  • Excellent communication skills open minded and flexible.
  • General understanding of trading, broker and custodian operations.
  • Keen awareness of technology applications and software, to support growing operational and trading complexity and automation efficiencies.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines and detail orientation.
  • A keen willingness to learn.
  • An inquisitive and proactive and flexible nature.
  • Educated to A level standard
  • Commitment to attaining the industry standard qualifications such as IOC Investment Operations Certificate, IMC or equivalent.

  • Analyse data making sound judgments and proposed resolution steps in respect of any issues arising.
  • Analyze and solve issues in a timely manner.
