  • Experience in supporting compliance and the design, development and implementation of a risk management framework for an employee benefits business across the UK and Europe
  • Understanding of risk quantification techniques, employee benefits and compliance frameworks
  • Broad understanding of the risks facing employee benefits and financial service firms
  • Experience with and understanding of a compliance programme, and proven ability to manage compliance matters
  • Autonomy / Judgement / Decision Making

  • Workload priorities relating to the framework are set by the Risk Team Management but there is autonomy for the jobholder in the meeting of these
  • Refers to Risk & Compliance Senior Managers for advice and guidance on compliance and regulatory issues
  • Relationship Management

  • Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with business contacts to ensure engagement of business areas in the risk framework
  • Develops relationships with industry bodies and trade associations to ensure Mercer aware of industry patterns and emerging new practice
  • Complexity / Problem Solving

  • Assesses the risk management information requirements of local business management
  • Assists business with early stage analysis of risk issues and incidents
  • Maintains own knowledge of the risk management trends and techniques
  • Business Impact / Strategic Perspective

  • Provides risk management related advice to business on decisions, and key projects to the firm, and other matters as considered appropriate
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    KEY BUSINESS RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility for assisting the business with on-going operation of the risk management framework.
  • Risk management interface responsibility with the business throughout Mercer
  • Analysis of risk reporting and risk registers
  • Production of risk reporting for the Risk Committee
  • Facilitation of risk assessments on Top Tier Risks
  • Management of compliance-related tasks and projects
  • Participation in specific risk reviews and new business projects
  • KEY REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the embedding of a culture of openness and compliance within the Firm
  • Ensure that risks to the Firm are identified, assessed and mitigated in accordance with centrally defined risk management methodologies and protocols.
  • Oversee the preparation and provision of regular risk related management information, as required by the Risk & Governance Leader
  • Support annual review of the Risk Appetite Statement in conjunction with the Firm’s strategic planning process / timetable
