    We currently have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a :

    Global Tax Administrator

    Located in Croydon, UK and reporting to the Manager, Client Tax, this role is focused on supporting all aspects of tax filings in our global markets.

    Currently our global markets include Canada, United States, Australia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany and soon, Switzerland and France.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to : consultative internal stakeholders and the occasional client meeting;
  • suggesting, supporting and testing new development to enhance the tax production process; and complete end to end preseason, tax season and post season tax form generation.

    The incumbent has the necessary skills to complete tasks on our proprietary software, Shareworks, excel and third party tax programs, and has the necessary knowledge to conduct research for the different jurisdictions and any new countries that Solium moves into.

    Tax Production :

  • Ensure that all tax filings and reporting for clients and Solium, are issued accurately and timely
  • Contribute to the annual tax production project plan to ensure that all relevant tasks are captured throughout the year
  • Perform all required testing on tax forms that are issued from Shareworks to ensure accuracy
  • Generate tax forms in accordance with the project plan and manage testing requirements with print vendor
  • Submit filing to regulators which includes correcting and resubmitting rejected filings
  • Manage any special handling requirements for clients inclusive of tax form amendments for clients
  • Audit tax form generation to ensure all forms for all clients have been completed
  • Identify personal knowledge gaps and follow through with the appropriate internal parties to enhance your knowledge
  • Tax Service :

  • Acts as a key resource and advisor to internal stakeholders (sales, product, client admins and relationship managers). Keeps current with new Solium products and system releases;
  • interpreting and understanding the impact of new or changed functionality to the tax team.

  • First point of contact to respond to Tax questions, via in-house ticketing system, resolving the ticket and / or communicating pertinent information back to the reporter for further communication back to the company or participant
  • Manage year-end invoice charges for clients for tax production / tax form generation and mailing
  • Provide monthly reporting to finance for country specific tax authority remittances, support any queries to assist with the Finance reconciliation for Solium tax withholding accounts
  • Proactively provide project updates to Global Tax Manager as required to ensure the success of tax activities
  • Identify and communicate all barriers to success within same day of determination
  • Contribute to the Participant Tax Guide available to participants via Shareworks, and internally via intranet
  • Proactively engage and collaborate with all of your co-workers globally to build positive rapport to contribute as an effective team member as measured by their feedback
  • Partake in special projects within the global tax team to enhance our process and efficiency
  • Risk Management :

    Identify and assess potential risk within the operational set up of Shareworks that either impacts the successful completion of tax production or presents risk to Solium (financial or reputational) and put in measures to mitigate areas of risk as appropriate.

  • Intranet is updated with the details of all tax slips generated
  • Update processes and procedures on the intranet site as required
  • Follow established protocols of dual verification for all issued and amended tax forms
  • Suggest ideas of system development that will mitigate risk; increase efficiency and quality
  • Familiarity with the UK and global employee share plan requirements, including : 1099 tax slips; Forms 34, 35, 39, 42; SA900; SRS01
  • North America and Australian Tax Knowledge will be an asset
  • Previous employee share plan and tax production background would be a strong asset
  • Ability to challenge business deficiencies identified through the tax production process
  • Comfortable working with technology and technical concepts on a daily basis
  • Thrives in a fast paced, changing environment and has excellent time management skills
  • Effectively manages themselves during times of stress and acts as a leader by setting an example for others
  • An aptitude for learning quickly with a solid understanding of e-commerce and equities
  • Analytical, accurate, and strong problem solving skills essential
