Are you a dedicated GP seeking a flexible role within an Out of Hours (OOH) environment?

London Central & West Unscheduled Care Collaborative (LCW UCC) is looking to expand its current pool of sessional GP’s in these challenging times.

This is a great opportunity for you to build on your high-quality clinical skills, as a member of a dedicated, energetic, and proactive multidisciplinary team.

Who are we?

Founded in 1994 out of a local GP cooperative, London Central and West Unscheduled Care Collaborative (LCW) has evolved into one of London's largest and most successful providers of Integrated Urgent Care services covering a population of 3.

5 million. We pride ourselves on delivering safe, effective, responsive, caring, and well led patient centred clinical services as recognised by our Good’ CQC rating in all areas of our organisation.

Services : UTCs (24hr), 111 (in-hours & CAS ED), GP OOH (Telephone Triage and Home Visiting), Planned Care GP Practices

Location : Various sites located in Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Chelsea & Westminster, Ealing & Hounslow, and shortly City & Hackney.

As a result of the national strategy NHS 111 First, we are now expanding our service in order to deliver the main features of this : booking patients into ED slots and Same Day Emergency Care SDEC services and in the near future, hot clinic referrals e.

g. lower GI and cardiology referrals . These schemes need the GP skill set to provide remote assessment with access to video technology and patients’ records to ensure high quality, clinically effective referrals onto other services.

We are looking for GPs to work across the breadth of our service portfolio including Urgent Care Centres, 111 and OOHs (collectively referred to as Integrated Urgent Care services) for both in-hours and out-of-hours shifts.

By working for LCW, you will become part of an effective team that supports the urgent care system- our ability to do this was clearly demonstrated and widely acknowledged during the first Covid 19 peak where our rapid and flexible response supported the health care system.

You will play a key role by :

  • Managing a case load, dealing with a wide range of presenting health care needs and undiagnosed problems
  • Providing care to patients via telephone consultation at base, home visits or face-to-face appointments
  • Working in collaboration with other clinicians within the CAS (Clinical Assessment Service) to enhance patient experience and reduce ED admissions
  • What can we offer you?

  • Flexible working both in-hours and OOH sessions
  • Variety of shifts
  • Competitive rates
  • Opportunity to work in a diverse clinical team
  • Supportive work environment
  • Monthly clinical feedback
  • Regular clinical and safeguarding updates
  • Monthly free educational evening on a variety of relevant topics with guest speakers
  • Pay rates

Our rates of pay vary between £66.50 and £77.00 per hour depending on the time and type of shift, and whether you chose to receive NHS Pensions at 14.38%.

In addition, we have the ability to pay into Limited companies, which we understand some individuals prefer.

    Medical indemnity

With the creation of the Clinical Negligence Scheme for General Practice, medical indemnity costs are at an all-time low.

Please note that support for complaints / professional representation at disciplinary hearings / regulatory bodies etc. is outside the scheme and clinicians are required to arrange cover with their defence organisation / insurer - fees for this are presumably proportionate to the number of average weekly sessions worked.

    Sessional options

Our sessions are managed via RotaMaster there is flexibility with this in that GPs can request to do blocks of sessions e.

    g. groups of nights / evenings together, either every week or alternate weeks or even 1 : 4 weeks, depending on demand for session fill.

    Onboarding process

In order to proceed, please submit your CV and we will contact you shortly.

Details of our remote streamlined onboarding process can be found under the job description link.

We look forward to your application and to bringing you on board to help deliver integrated urgent care services in this ever-changing climate.
