Maintenance / Reliabilty Technician

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance / Reliability Technician based in the North West predominantly working at the flour mill in Liverpool in the U.

K. which produces and delivers wheat flour over a twenty-four hour period, seven days per week. The normal shift pattern will be Monday Friday covering alternating times between 6am and 6pm.

There will be a commitment to being on the site call out rota system, covering 24 hours when on call. The main purpose of the role is to provide electro-mechanical cover for the mill and drive implementation of pro-active maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the main duties of this role will include :

  • Work to achieve right first time’ maintenance
  • Employ a clean as you go policy
  • Maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment within the plant so that it is capable of working at optimum performance.
  • Working with group Mechanical Reliability Engineer to align & implement maintenance & reliability practices.
  • Investigating and undertaking electrical and mechanical breakdown repairs and fault finding within the plant.
  • Continual operation improvement and innovation
  • Maintain and repair all plant equipment and systems on site so that the plant is capable of working at optimum performance
  • Planned maintenance to be carried out efficiently
  • Ensure site hygiene standards are maintained
  • Ensure safety and health requirements and guidelines are met
  • Participating in an out-of-hours call-out cover rota for breakdowns.
  • Working within the Company Safety and Health guidelines.
  • Ensuring food safety compliance requirements are met within the plant
  • The Candidate

    The successful candidate will possess the following :

  • A good level of electrical and mechanical skills together with a level of competence in process control engineering
  • Experience of pro-active maintenance processes & techniques
  • Tertiary qualification in an engineering disciplineIdeally the candidate will be City and Guilds qualified, or equivalent, or be a qualified time served Engineer / Apprentice
  • Electrical 17th edition pass
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to work within a team to the highest standards of safety or working alone
