The role
You will responsible for the wellbeing of entire client accounts or large sections of a major client account. This involves managing a large portfolio of projects and ensuring that they are delivered on schedule, within budget and to specification.
Account Managers ensure that a complete brief is obtained for all projects and ensure that project details are communicated to all stakeholders (internal teams, external vendors, etc).
They drive the day-to-day project management of all assigned live projects and are the first port of call for queries during a project’s life-cycle.
You will contribute to internal strategic planning meetings, have excellent time and financial management skills, and add value to the overall development of the account team and client relationships.
You will liaise with the business development team to assist with new proposals and support pitches as required and be be responsible for managing a large portfolio of projects ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget and to specification.

The successful candidate will be able to contribute to internal strategic planning meetings, have excellent time management and financial management skills as well as being able to add value to the overall development of the team and client relationships.
As required, you will liaise with the Business Development team to assist in new proposals and pitches and support pitches.
Project delivery
Facilitation of the delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget :
Ensuring quality control and compliant communication
Conducting overall management of programme and project completion, including regular team meetings, ensuring all projects are briefed fully and delivered to brief, time and quality expectations
Ensuring organization of, and attending, weekly account team meetings
Customer engagement
Begins to partner with clients more independently, nurturing relationships for long-term mutual benefit, as well as protecting and enhancing the Chameleon reputation
Accurately completes client contact reports with minimal supervision / revision
Executes projects autonomously, has proven knowledge of internal processes, capably and directly manages projects working with interdepartmental teams
Expert oversight of Datavision (if applicable to account)
Proactive management of client business through establishing and maintaining professional and productive client relationships
Team engagement
Manages resources for all projects in close collaboration with the AD, SD, DCS and other departments as appropriate :
Mentoring allocated account team members to ensure a consistently high level of project and account management
Communicating and implementing all relevant SOPs
Management and organization
Works closely with Client Finance Director for accurate picture and preservation of account financials
Correctly uses existing financial tools, e.g. Financial Dashboard, to keep team abreast of key financial data trackers.
Develops client budgets, scope of work and estimates with minimal revision needed
May oversee the work of, and provide direction to, junior client services colleagues; delegates projects to provide experience and knowledge transfer
Leads on interdepartmental relationship issues; identifies and solves problems; gives and receives constructive criticism in a positive manner;
and immediately addresses any conflicts with peers
Addresses training and development needs of the account team through mentoring, in-house training and the provision of external training
Contributing directly towards quality assurance through participation in the medical and marketing review of projects
Implementing new services and tools to meet or anticipate evolving client and business needs
Business development
Manages client account potential to meet and exceed annual forecast, working closely with senior client service colleagues and the business development team as required
Builds organic business opportunities with existing clients through intelligence gathering and proposal development
Works with account teams and business development colleagues to identify new business opportunities
Assists in the preparation of new business pitch / presentation, including research, scheduling and other internal needs
Strategic input
Genuine understanding of HCG companies and services; can discuss these at a top-line level with client
Participates and contributes in select business planning sessions
Demonstrates some understanding of, and can internally discuss, client strategy and / or objectives
Exhibits knowledge of the global healthcare market, relevant therapy areas, medical communication programmes, including publications, congresses and events, medical education, market access and digital programmes
Skills and Experiecence
Bachelor’s (BA) degree, preferably in business, marketing, communications, life sciences.
Relevant account management experience in a medical communications agency
Up-to-date knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, markets, regulations and trends
Ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions for the pharmaceutical industry
Experience with running global projects for the pharmaceutical industry and ability to demonstrate knowledge within emerging markets
Confident and comfortable interacting with clients and medical experts
Ability to recognize and anticipate problems, providing potential solutions where necessary
Excellent, clear communicator
