This varied role will be responsible for a number of key activities, including :

  • Calculating salary and adjustments from monthly timesheets and input data onto payroll system.
  • Updating the payroll system with details of new starters, leavers, transfers, changes of pay rate and hours.
  • Ensure that the monthly and weekly payrolls are run efficiently and accurately and all employees are paid on time and in accordance with current tax and other regulations.
  • Maintain and develop existing administrative procedures and reports to ensure they remain error free and continue to meet business needs
  • Undertaking maternity calculations and producing all correspondence.
  • Liaise with the external bureaus to ensure all international employees are correctly paid, processing timesheets, reviewing payment schedules and authorising payment once content is fully confirmed
  • Monitoring the overpayments process, including calculations and all correspondence.
  • Generating monthly report for all stakeholders.
  • Generating AOE payments and Statement of Earnings.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager in ad-hoc duties when necessary.
  • To assist where necessary on the new payroll and HR system project.
  • Assisting with the Payroll Helpdesk in responding to payroll queries from our stores.
  • The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate :

  • Minimum of 2 years payroll experience within a similar multi-site business
  • Strong planning and organising skills; the proven ability to multi-task with a focus on achieving results
  • Adaptability and skill in prioritising a busy workload to ensure all deadlines are met in a pressurised environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the proven ability to maintain accuracy at all times
  • High personal standards with a tendency to strive for excellence in their work
  • An ability to absorb information and learn new skills quickly, with a willingness to ask questions to ensure a firm understanding and avoid errors
  • A positive outlook with a flexible attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibilities
  • Strong communication and team working skills; able to build strong effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Relevant Payroll qualification would be a benefit
