Job Description

We are expanding our busy Human Resources team and have an opportunity for a HR Advisor to join us for a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid background in HR to support our growing organisation with a variety of generalist responsibilities including employee relations, absence management, reward and employee wellbeing.

Reporting into the People Relations Manager, this challenging role would be an excellent next step for a HR Advisor looking to grow their experience as part of a supportive team environment.

This role will be based largely from home in the UK although we would require the successful individual to be able to attend our office in Milton Park, Oxfordshire, approximately once a week (covid-19 permitting).

What you will be doing :

  • Providing a supportive and consistent level of advice and guidance to our managers regarding a range of employee relations issues including performance management, absence management and wellbeing.
  • Supporting the People Relations Specialist with Employee Relations cases, ensuring our employees are managed effectively and cases are facilitated in an assertive yet sensitive manner at all times.
  • Supporting our managers to develop their people management capabilities whilst adhering to best practice
  • Managing flexible working and sabbatical requests and providing guidance and coaching to managers as required
  • Supporting with the management of the annual bonus scheme payments and annual reward review
  • Supporting the business with wellbeing and health and safety case work as required
  • Liaising with our shared service teams to ensure data integrity for payroll and employee reporting
  • Ad-hoc project work as may be required by the business
  • Qualifications

    Ideally you will be CIPD qualified, or part qualified with a keen interest in your own continuous professional development.

    The following key skills are required :

  • A solid generalist HR background including experience handling sensitive employee relations cases and the ability to provide consistent advice and guidance to managers on a variety of employment issues
  • A good working knowledge of current UK employment law and its application
  • Exceptional relationship management skills to partner with the business to build strong internal and external working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong HRIS skills in SAP HR or similar
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level
  • Knowledge of global mobility, benefits and acquisitions would be advantageous but is not essential.

    Additional Information

  • Salary of circa £35,000-42,000 per annum plus bonus scheme

  • Please note this is a UK based position and the successful candidate will be required to travel to our office in Milton Park, Oxfordshire, on a regular basis (ideally once a week).

    This role is offered on a 12-month fixed term contract basis. You must have the right to work and live in the United Kingdom.
