Reporting to the Head of Enterprise and Engagement, the Enterprise Development Manager will be responsible for managing a variety of diverse projects and work streams across the University including those initiatives identified as part of the work undertaken in the Enterprise Escalator as well as projects identified as having significant potential for income diversification.

The Enterprise Development Manager will provide leadership and dedicated resource for internal product and service development for income diversification, working with academic and professional services colleagues to progress key initiatives.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Working with academic and professional services colleagues to identify potential income generating projects
  • Establishing and embedding a systematic approach to the development and delivery of new opportunities from idea generation and / or concept development to commercialisation
  • The development and implementation of key initiatives such as our innovation and commercialisation service offering and Talent Agency, using external funding where available
  • Developing a mechanism for assessing the commercial viability of each project
  • Working with colleagues in the Enterprise and Engagement team to ensure each project forms part of our wider offer to businesses and other external stakeholders
  • This is a vital post in supporting the university’s income diversification ambitions and priorities, focusing on delivering key growth initiatives as part of our continuous development and expansion of our enterprise and innovation offering to external stakeholders.

  • The successful candidate will have strong organisational and planning skills; proven track record of delivering significant projects / initiatives working with multiple stakeholders;
  • and be innovative and proactive with an outcome focused approach

    The role will be based in Canterbury (working from home until further notice) and will involve travel throughout Kent and Medway.
