Job Description

Working within our integrated engineering team at our production facility in Cirencester you will develop electrical and control systems for interfacing Bosch Rexroth factory automation products with third party systems and for plant networks on machine control systems.

This will include PLC / HMI / control systems and other hardware from our own company and other manufacturers. Application areas include sectors as diverse as automotive, aerospace, food, packaging and printing, instrumentation and even F1.

With a busy order schedule you must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently, with a focus on the detail, as well as collaborate with the wider team to deliver results.

You will need to build good working relationships with the engineers, production control, purchasing teams and other stakeholders.

  • Main responsibilities will include;
  • Taking the lead on the design of electrical control systems to support special machine manufacture
  • Developing and managing the project plan for defined engineering jobs / projects in conjunction with other departments
  • Preparation of detailed electrical control specifications and special test procedures
  • Continuous awareness of EMC effects on a system in all electrical control design considerations
  • Supporting workshop testing and commissioning and / or fault finding at customers premises as required
  • Provide functional safety expertise both internally and externally, ensuring all safety related components and circuits comply to the machinery directive and safety categorisation of the system as a whole
  • Essential :

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Controls and Software Engineering or Engineering systems (HND or apprenticeship qualifications will be considered alongside proven experience in relevant industry sector)
  • Expert in EPlan P8 including Pro Panel and Fluid bolt ons
  • Expert in PLC programming, HMI screen creation, integration of 3rd party equipment such as robot, vision systems, measurement systems, etc
  • Knowledge and use of an Enterprise PDM; document management and project technical files
  • Conversant in Microsoft Products
  • Desirable :

  • Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Functional safety experience
  • Knowledge and use of SAP R3 or similar integrated MRP system
  • Team leader / supervisory experience
