Salary : Circa 24K per annum (possibly more for right candidates) dependant on experience

Location : Chessington, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey

Working hours : Permanent, full-time.

Our client manufactures an exciting range of systems for the construction, automotive, acoustic and audio markets, exporting to numerous countries around the world.

They are a leading manufacturer of engineered facade and roofing systems to the architectural sector, complemented by a comprehensive range of fasteners, load bearing components and accessories.

They have full in-house testing facilities, as well as 3D design and engineering analysis and also produce a broad range of acoustic mesh and perforated components for the automotive, architectural and audio markets, specialising in visual imaging on facades as well as aesthetic diffusion and absorption solutions.

THE ROLE- Turret / CNC Operative - Chessington, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey

The Turret Operative will operate LVD Turret machine in order to support steel and aluminium products manufacturing process within Ash & Lacy as a part of a full offering of building envelope solutions for various projects across a multitude of industries.

Reporting to production manager within the manufacturing depot.

Key responsibilities for Turret / CNC Operative in Chessington to include :

  • Set up and run our LVD Pullmax turret machine to punch / form a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in order to process building products to UK market.
  • Download CNC programs and set up tooling as required per the machine drawings
  • Perform first article and in-process inspection
  • Ensure all tooling are sharp and maintained and be responsible for the quality of own work and achieve time standards as well.
  • Maintain equipment according to business 5S standards and ensure regular health checks performed and any identified issues reported to line manager in timely manner.
  • Read and interpret Ash & Lacy or customer drawings and specifications. Liaise with detailing and sales team where unforeseen production capability issues arise.
  • As and when required troubleshoot as it pertains to LVD punching
  • Ability to routinely handle objects weighing up to 30Kg + with aid of support mechanisms provides.
  • Record and book material usage for each job and provide relevant machine usage data to maintain business KPI’s.
  • Work on your feet, including bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning and walking for an 8 hour shift.

    OTHER DUTIES MAYBE REQUIRED THAT ARE CONSIDERED REASONABLE FOR THE ROLE AND TO SUPPORT OTHER FUNCTIONS.

    ESSENTIAL

  • Experience on operating LVD PullMax Turret machine or similar
  • Good written , verbal communication and computer skills
  • FLT license Necessity
  • DESIRBLE

  • Knowledge and experience of Manufacturing / construction industry
  • Training in Lean Manufacturing principles
