Role Responsibilities :
Create and maintain an environment that provides customers with desired services and experiences.
Take ownership of the client’s needs and pursue effective communications with the customer in order to build a stable relationship.
Including ownership of plant failure and associated incident reports, striving to limit downtime.
Create accurate and meaningful management reports that depict the productivity of the site team, equipment reliability, failure trends, improvement recommendations and financial spend against budget.
Operate within the annual budget for the maintenance and repair of the building engineering services within all NI locations.
Develop and implement initiatives, practices, and plans to capitalise on customer-focused growth and improvement opportunities.
Proactively manage sub-contractors and specialist providers, monitoring performance and enhancing BBC value for money.
Periodically review whether asset maintenance is best done via supply chain or self-delivery.
Own the Engineering delivery against KPIs, SLAs and Service Delivery Plans.
Oversee activities to ensure QSHE and PTW aspects are managed and monitored.
Provide direction and leadership of a site based multi-skilled maintenance team, to include effective hiring, motivation, development, training and discipline.
Ongoing communications with the team including formal meetings and toolbox talks.
Ensure personal development reviews are implemented for all team members, ensuring training and development requirements are implemented.
Prepare operational procedures, emergency and contingency plans.
Be available to attend or manage emergency call-outs and provide written incident reports as required.
Complete audits as required to achieve and confirm statutory compliance.
In conjunction with the Statutory Compliance team, develop, implement and monitor a robust risk management process and procedure.
Maintain the integrity of the regional asset register.
Responsibility for Energy Management in consultation with the Energy & Environmental Manager.
Development of a 5-year forward maintenance plan.
Maintain operation and maintenance records that accurately relate to installed systems and equipment.
Advise the team of changes in maintenance techniques that may be beneficial in terms of improved service levels, provide cost reduction or may reduce the possible exposure of disruption or interruption to the BBC’s broadcast / business critical operations.
Support the Continuous Improvement Programme and identify issues to drive forward contract development.
From time-to-time complete additional duties in line with your knowledge, skills and capabilities.
Personal Experience / Qualifications / Skills :
Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
Detailed knowledge of Engineering and QSHE legislation.
Qualification in one of the Engineering disciplines.
IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH (desirable).
Highly evolved communication / influencing skills at all levels.
Experience of managing client and supplier relationships.
Experience of budget management.
Demonstrable experience of managing service providers / contractors and internal teams at a site level.
Successful KPI / SLA achievement within a large and complex client service model.
Producing and analysing management information and providing innovative solutions for evolving / improving processes.
Experience of Project / Small Works Management.
Proven track record in successful people management including performance management and familiarity with operational HR process and procedure.
Able to change work pattern at short notice to meet the requirements of the client and building.
Have held HV Authorised Person status.
Confined Spaces experience.
