HR GO Recruitment are looking for a Site Supervisor / Caretaker for our Client in Banbury, to guarantee the smooth management of their school and to ensure that the school building is a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors at all times.
Our client is a successful Primary Academy in theBanbury area ofOxfordshire, who are very proud of their school. It is committed to safe guarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
To undertake the maintenance and caretaking activities based at the Academy on a daily basis.
Duties & Skills
will include (but are not limited to) :
Day to day supervision of the cleaning team
Delivery of planned maintenance
Sound knowledge of Health and Safety compliance
Flexible attitude to supporting school events outside of working hours
Key holder for school lettings at Middleton Cheney Primary Academy (these do attract an additional payment)
The Ideal Candidate
The right candidate will be expected to work largely on their own completing programmes of cleaning and maintenance of the school referring matters outside of day to day work to the designated line manager.
The role requires substantial physical effort working occasionally in unpleasant / disagreeable conditions.
Experience working in a relevant discipline i.e. site keeping experience in a school or similar environment
Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions
Awareness of health and hygiene procedures
Good interpersonal skills and excellent organisational skills
Knowledge of moving and handling procedures
Ability to be flexible within the work place and a pro-active attitude towards problem solving
Current clean driving licence
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Use of appropriate specialist equipment / resources
Willingness to participate in development and training opportunities and the ability to put training into practice
Knowledge and understanding of COSHH regulations
Effective use of ICT
Ability to organise, lead and motivate a team
Due to this post having access to children and / or vulnerable adults, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.

Grade F £18-000- £19000 depending on experience.
