Rethink Mental Illness have been appointed to deliver psychological therapies (IAPT step 1, 2 and 3 interventions) within HMP Haverigg .

We are looking for a Health and Wellbeing Coach to deliver IAPT Step 1 interventions and assess and support people with a common mental health problem in the self-

management of their recovery; building a professional relationship of trust in a non-judgmental manner with every client, as a basis for developing and enabling therapeutic relationships.

In this role you will :

  • Provide a comprehensive induction pack and suite of self-help materials to support with early intervention and prevent inappropriate referrals.
  • Joint work to provide appropriate packages of care, e.g. joint activities with substance misuse services.
  • Work in a coaching manner, exploring ways of goal setting with people to help them achieve their ambitions.
  • Organise and facilitate group based workshops and activities, ensuring self-help and peer support groups cover a flexible timetable.
  • The successful candidate will :

  • Have experience of working with people with mental health needs (both 1-1 and in groups) in a coaching and goal setting way.
  • Have experience of developing and co-ordinating projects and activities.
  • Have completed training or qualification relevant to the post, e.g. Train the trainer, recovery training, Peer Support Worker or Coaching.
  • Have a working knowledge and understanding of mental health and ability to recognise the indicators of deteriorating mental health.
