An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and dynamic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our experienced and supportive Children’s Therapy Team for up to 11 months to cover a maternity leave vacancy.

You will join a friendly, innovative integrated Children’s Therapy Team delivering high quality compassionate clinical care across York and Selby.

Our patients are children and young people from 0-18 years, with a variety of neurological and developmental difficulties.

You will be working with pre-school and school aged children in a variety of settings which may include patient homes, community clinics, mainstream and special schools and nurseries throughout the York and Selby locality.

You will need to demonstrate advanced communication and organisational skills alongside knowledge and experience in the management of a range of Paediatric conditions.

Our team has a strong commitment to supporting personal professional development through in-service training programme, clinical and managerial supervision and appraisal.

This will include support from the Advanced Clinical Specialists in Paediatric Neurodevelopment Conditions (Physiotherapist) and Autism and Sensory Processing (Occupational Therapist) to develop in your role.

Your support network will also include a robust format of clinical supervision and peer review. You also will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and supervision of therapy assistants and students.

There is a strong emphasis on service improvement and innovative practice is encouraged. The successful applicant would be expected to fully participate in on-going service development activities alongside the training programme.

Please note - if you would like your application to be considered for secondment, you must secure agreement from your employer / line manager beforehand that you can be released to undertake the role.
