Job purpose :

Dyson is one of Britains biggest entrepreneurial / innovation success stories of recent times with annual sales in excess of £3billion.

They have huge ambitions to increase their global presence and share, notably in fast growth markets. Historically Dyson was famous for vacuum cleaners but have expanded their product portfolio into environmental control (heating and cooling) and personal care with plans to launch several exciting new products including their digital vehicle in 2020.

All products are premium combining best performance with innovative design - and are the best in every segment in which they operate.

Mindshare has been working with Dyson on a global basis since 2013, with responsibility for nearly for 40 markets. In 2018 we have renewed our global remit with Dyson for a further 3 years with a commitment to expand our remit and teams to deliver Dysons business goals.

Dyson is a top 15 global client, and constantly growing. Our role and responsibilities include investment strategy and value management, strategic planning, network management, media planning & buying and reporting and information.

We are committed to creating a best in class digital performance function for Dyson to help them achieve ambitious direct sales targets.

In service of this we have centralized Dysons performance digital planning and execution into three regional hubs based in London, New York and Singapore.

Dyson remains a very entrepreneurial company run on a daily basis by the founder. As such most responsibilities are handled internally (including creative and PR) Mindshare work with Hogarth (production) and Kantar Millward Brown (research) as the WPP partners used by the business.

The Account Executive in the Client Leadership team reports into the Business Director, assisting them in delivering excellence in account management and network communication and supporting the Dyson planning team to deliver category planning guidance to markets.

The role will be based in London.

Overview of Role :

The Account Executive willreport directly to the Business Director (and Senior Account Manager)

Ideally, the AE will have at least a years experience in a media agency preferably with some local market planning experience, but this is not an imperative.

New graduatesand candidates that demonstrate the right aptitude and credentials will be considered for this role

Network management and coordination is a key aspect of the role and the AEwill be critical in supporting the BD in driving network and planning excellence

The AE will be responsible for updating regular reports and driving operational excellence with the team and Mindshare local markets.

Typically, this involves weekly status documents and call, assisting in the delivery of regular monthly spend and value reports and maintaining regular and strong communication with the Mindshare local markets

AEwill need to be extremely organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with support from team where required

Day To Day Responsibilities :

MARKET MANAGEMENT & DAY TO DAY TASKS

Market Communication

The AE will support the BD and AM in managing regular tasks involving network communication, answering questions from markets and communicating updates and information via market calls and email.

Network Calls

The AE will attend networks calls and support the BD with any follow up actions with markets

Audience Profiles & Insights

The AE will ideally be trained in audience planning tools like TGI. Training can be provided where the right candidate does not have experience as the AE will sometimes need to support the strategy team with audience work

Maintains contact lists and information management through organisation of Dyson folders. Responsible for keeping weekly status sheets up to date, liaising across the global and local Mindshare teams.

PLANNING INTEGRATION

Visibility of local market plans

The AE will support BD and AM in collating and reviewing plans and share visibility of media plans and responses with client teams

Case Studies

Support BD, AM with finding insights and case studies for ad hoc requests and innovation workstreams

PLATFORMS & REPORTING

MAP Media Activity Planner

Support BD and Senior AM in driving usage and adoption MAP, a media investment platform that local markets plan media directly on

INSIGHTS AND PLANNING

Strategy (Ah-Hoc)

Supporting strategy team with any insights or planning support when required

Planning Support (Always On)

Support BD and AM with collating briefing status every quarter to inform the team and clients

Support BD and Senior AM with evaluating local market plans and driving planning excellence

Desirable Skills :

  • Numeracy and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with working with data in excel plus other Office tools
  • Someone who reflects both Mindshares values of Speed, Teamwork and Provocation and exhibit Dyson team values
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks under direction and working under time pressures.
