To drive revenue and profit growth for company products and services in all our market sector. CLS operates within a number of areas of the food industry and provides analytical solutions which include Dioxins, PCB’s Pesticides, Mycotoxins and other Contaminants.
The candidate will focus on these areas and support growth into existing and new service areas and market sectors as part of the growth strategy of the Food division within CLS.
This will be done by developing and maintaining expert knowledge of the food testing market sector to be able to engage customers at regulatory, technical and business levels.
The ideal candidate will therefore not only be able to demonstrate continued success in a sales role but will also benefit from a sound technical knowledge in the food industry and food science.
The role will involve frequent travel in the UK and Europe. A company car / laptop / mobile phone will be provided.
Your duties :
Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
Establish and cultivate client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction
Explore and develop new areas of business activity to allow a diversification in our current offering using existing or new capabilities.
Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers with a strong objective on maximising their spend with CLS.
Visit client offices and host customer visits to present company services, include other sales / CLS personnel as appropriate.
Work with appropriate legal, financial and operational personnel as well as the customer to develop service agreements.
Prepare territory business plan(s) and call activity plan(s) as necessary for existing and new business activities.
Build individual account plans where appropriate and as directed by management.
Prepare, issue and follow-up quotations to achieve forecasted volume sales.
Identify new opportunities within the industry sector served and identify opportunities to cross sell across the analytical capabilities of CLS.
Report on business intelligence and provide competitor information to peers.
Provide accurate forecast management and sales reporting.
Identify, qualify, record and track new business opportunities in company provided CRM / Pipelines systems.
Attend and contribute to sales team and departmental meetings as required.
Build strong relationships with operations, marketing and support peers in the business.
Generally promoting and maintaining the professional image of the Company and attend exhibitions as required.
Qualifications / Role Requirements :
Degree in a relevant science or proven experience in working in the prescribed field.
Experienced in sales already or looking for the opportunity to move into a sales role from a technical function.
Able to identify and highlight own training needs, and proactively upskill.
Demonstrated success in the development and launch of new products that achieved sustained sales after launch
Strong written and oral communications skills; IT Literate.
A full, clean UK driving license.
Proactive in your approach to your work.
9am to 5.30pm. Working and staying away from home with extensive travelling (approx. 50% of time) within the UK and occasionally Europe.
